The Sovereign User Charter

Welcome to Youniversalis. This network operates differently from what you may be accustomed to. There are no algorithms deciding what you see, no data harvested for advertisers, and no public profiles open to the world. Every design choice prioritises your privacy and your sovereignty. This guide explains how things work.

The Handshake

On Youniversalis, connections are mutual. There is no "following" someone without their consent. When you initiate a handshake with another founder, they must accept before any data is shared between you. Until then, you will not appear in each other's feeds and your extended profile remains hidden from one another.

A pending handshake can be accepted or declined from the left column of your dashboard. Both parties always have a choice.

Data Visibility

Your digital identity is protected by strict visibility rules:

Public by default: Your username and avatar are the only things visible to everyone on the network. This is intentional. It allows people to recognise you while keeping everything else private.

Visible only to connections: Your extended profile data — including your real name, city, country, profession, school, biography, and your timeline posts — is strictly hidden from anyone who has not formed an accepted connection with you. The server physically withholds this information.

If you visit a profile and see very little information, it does not mean the person has nothing to share. It means you are not yet connected. Initiate a handshake to unlock their full dossier.

The Search Engine

The search bar requires an exact or partial username to return results. There is no fuzzy matching, no "suggested users," and no browsing directory. This is not a limitation — it is a deliberate privacy measure. It prevents mass scraping of user data and ensures nobody can enumerate the full member list.

Want to find someone? Ask them for their username directly. This is how a trust-based network operates.

Profile Management: The Control Room

Your public profile page is read-only. You cannot edit it directly from the profile view. All changes to your identity are managed through the Control Room, accessible via the Settings button in the navigation bar.

From the Control Room, you can:

• Upload or change your profile picture (automatically cropped to a perfect square, max 2MB)
• Update your email address
• Fill in optional profile fields: Real Name, City, Country, Profession, School, Biography
• Change your password
• Permanently delete your account (irreversible, all data annihilated)

Remember: Only your username and avatar are public. Everything else you enter in the Control Room is shared exclusively with your accepted connections.

Growing the Network

Youniversalis does not advertise. It grows through trust. The most powerful thing you can do is invite people you know and trust to join the network.

Tell them your username so they can find you via search after registering. If invite tokens are active, you can generate personal invite links from the Invite page accessible through your dashboard.

A quiet feed is normal at first. As you connect with more founders, your timeline will come alive. The network is what you and your connections make of it.

Privacy & Sovereignty

Your data never leaves European territory. Our servers are physically located in Germany and our routing infrastructure is based in Luxembourg. Your digital identity is governed exclusively by European law (GDPR). We deploy zero third-party tracking cookies, zero analytics pixels, and zero behavioural profiling. The only cookie on this platform is the strictly necessary session identifier that keeps you logged in.
